I grew up in San Mateo. Born at Mills Hospital, as a matter of fact. San Mateo was much nicer back then. Not as many people. The population of the peninsula just exploded! Plus, we couldn't afford to buy a home there. Consequently, we moved across the bay where we could afford a home. After 30 years in Union City, we found it to be too crowded and expensive, so we sold our home and moved to Indiana with no regrets.

Glad it sold in spite of this video - the style of habitual jump-cutting is totally inappropriate for the presentation of architecture. It was a relief to return to the vintage clips. Since you were clearly building on the mid-century historical angle, it would have been nice to include something about the original owner and architect Benjamin Fishstein.
